Market: Construction

Insert Molding

Customer: Eco-Block

Advanced insert-molding technology, engineering expertise, extensive warehousing, manufacturing flexibility, and a willingness to store complementary products together led Eco-Block to partner with Polyfoam in the Insulating Concrete Form (ICF) business. A replacement for wooden forms in building construction, ICFs stay in place after the concrete is poured, to provide immediate insulation and protection from violent weather. Eco-Block, one of the major distributors of ICFs throughout the US and Canada, was reassessing its distribution network in the northeast, and decided to put its trust and confidence with the Polyfoam team.

Polyfoam had recently purchased a top of the line insert molding press in order to serve the ICF market. With expertise brought in through years of molding EPS foam, the engineers at Polyfoam were able to meet Eco-Block’s needs, and further – to advance the process for added efficiencies and cost savings. Polyfoam’s vast warehousing and the company’s ability to turn on a dime was also critical due to the volatile nature of the construction industry. Establishing a manufacturing and distribution location in the northeast was advantageous for Eco-Block to the savings on freight. Polyfoam provided additional savings and benefits for a win-win partnership.
