Temperature Sensitive Shipment – DNA Sample

Company: Local Applied Genomics Company

A local applied genomics company, whose mission is to develop technologies that help to eradicate mortality from common cancers, had found a noninvasive method to screen for early signs of colon cancer. They had hired a design firm to develop a pack that would house a DNA sample along with several other items to be shipped to a lab. The design firm, however, had reached a roadblock and needed Polyfoam to engineer the pack for temperature-controlled shipping, all in a manner that was simple for the doctors and patients to use, and that was cost-effective to ship.

Polyfoam brought extensive expertise in creating containers used to ship temperature sensitive items such as pharmaceuticals, and worked closely with the design firm to meet the company’s goals in a timely manner. By partnering together, the three companies were able to bring to market a product that is considered to be a major breakthrough in the methods for detection of colorectal cancer.
